HKGI North Loop Tour

HKGi walks the North Loop! Followed by a happy hour (location TBD)

The intent of this walking tour is to consider the urban design of the North Loop and look for ideas that might be incorporated into our future planning/design work. Equally important is to consider mistakes or challenges in the area so that we don't make the same mistakes in the future.

Consider elements that affect how the area functions:

  • Building Size and Scale
  • Land Uses
  • Traffic
  • Bike and pedestrian infrastructure
  • ADA
  • Parking locations
  • Access to buildings
  • Materials
  • "Back of house" elements like dumpsters and utilities
  • Visibility in and out of buildings
  • Block size and layout
  • Public & semipublic spaces
  • Sun / shade / microclimates
  • Vegetation or lack thereof
  • Others?

Use the following icons to drop your thoughts at different locations to help us plan a tour route.

Good Example of Urban Design - Drop a pin where you see a great example of urban design and note what you like about it.

Bad Example of Urban Design - Drop a pin where you see a bad example of urban design and note any problematic factors you see.

I Have Questions About This - Drop a pin on a feature or scene where you wonder why something was built a certain way.
